The trail is a 2.9 mile multi-use trail between Sunrise Boulevard (near Arcade Creek Park Preserve) and Watchtel Way, largely following an existing Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) corridor easement. The trail project is currently on target to complete design in Spring 2021, with construction anticipated to begin in Spring/Summer 2021. The new regional park will include Arcade Creek Park Preserve, Tempo Park, and Mitchell Village Park. (Scroll down to see the maps!)
The two exciting projects are located in the City of Citrus Heights and connect to unincorporated Orangevale, several neighborhoods, seven parks, several schools, and the Sunrise MarketPlace.
A Naming Review Committee, comprised of City staff and community partners, reviewed community submissions and presented top names that best reflect the values of our region to City Council for their vote. On November 12, 2020 the City Council selected the Arcade-Cripple Creek Trail as the name for the new trail.
Sunrise Recreation & Parks District will review the Regional Park Name suggestions and announce a winner.
