Please attend the Mariposa Avenue Safe Routes to School Projects Open House on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at Skycrest Elementary School Library, located at 5641 Mariposa Avenue, Citrus Heights.  Representatives from the City of Citrus Heights and transportation consultants will be available to discuss your individual concerns and answer questions.

Project Description: The Mariposa Avenue Safe Routes to School Phase 4 Project is the final phase of 1.2 mile Safe Route to School project providing complete streets connections between Greenback Lane and Madison Avenue encompassing Skycrest Elementary, San Juan High School and San Juan Park. This Project will complete the bicycle and pedestrian network between Northeast Circle and Madison Avenue including sidewalk, curb, gutter, bike lanes, street lighting, and upgrades to the traffic signal at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Mariposa Avenue.

Project Status: The project is in the preliminary analysis and environmental review phase. A design consultant firm, Bennett Engineering, has been selected to lead the design, environmental clearance, and right-of-way phases of the project. Construction is anticipated in Spring, 2021.

Next Steps: We will be attending and hosting several meetings starting in December 2018 to discuss the project in more detail and answer any questions. Information on location, dates and time coming soon!
