THE ROAD MAINTENANCE &
TRAFFIC RELIEF ACT OF 2016.
The Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA) board of directors is asking Sacramento County voters to approve a half-cent sales tax measure on the November 2016 ballot. This half-cent sales tax, known as Measure B, would be administered by the STA. The revenues from the measure would be distributed to each of the respective cities and the County based on a an established formula of population and miles of roadways maintained within each jurisdiction. For the City of Citrus Heights, Measure B would provide an estimated $197million over the 30 years. The City's top priority for use of these funds would be to focus on resurfacing our deteriorating residential streets . In addition to street paving, the funds would be used for Complete Streets Enhancements throughout the community. Improvements would include sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs; sidewalk infill; bicycle, pedestrian and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enhancements; additional street lighting; improved traffic signal coordination along our major corridors; median, streetscape and landscape amenities; and transit stop enhancements.
