If you have an emergency or need to report a crime in progress, please dial 911. From a cell phone, dial 916-726-3015 to reach the CHPD emergency line directly. When the dispatcher answers, remain calm, and provide as much detail as possible.
For non-emergencies, there are 3 options available to report a crime.
The lobby is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. excluding holidays to report a crime in person. You may also report a crime by calling our crime tip line at 916-727-5524. When reporting crimes of stolen property, it is helpful to gather details about the missing items such as make, model, serials numbers, or identifying marks. For identity theft, have credit card account information available.
