Lost & Found Publications
Posting signs of your lost pet or a found pet in your neighborhood is always helpful. Several groups recommend placing a sign in your own yard that says "LOST PET" and it's description. Neighbors often walk or drive an animal around the neighborhood looking for the owner. You may post online for free in newspapers, on Facebook, www.MyNeighborhood.com and on CraigsList. Check with neighboring agencies such as Roseville Animal Control or the SPCA.

With technology booming, there are many new phone apps like www.FindingRover.org or www.FoundAnimals.org and www.PetHarbor.com to help find missing pets.

Citrus Heights Animal Services (CHAS) - Found Animals
Citrus Heights does not have an animal shelter in the city. Whenever possible, Citrus Heights Animal Services tries to locate licenses, ID tags, and microchips to hopefully return found animals home rather than taking pets to the Sacramento County Animal Shelter at 3839 Bradshaw Road.

After 3 p.m. (before the end of each business day) CHAS takes animals to the Sacramento County Animal Shelter - 916-368-7387
