The city's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) presents the financial position and result of operations of the various funds of the city for the prior fiscal year. Responsibility for the accuracy of the data and the fairness of presentation, including all footnotes and disclosures, rests with the city. We believe the data presented in this report is accurate in all material respects, and all statements and disclosures necessary for the reader to obtain a thorough understanding of the city's financial activities have been included.
While traditionally addressed to the governing body of the city, this report is intended to provide relevant financial information to the citizens of the City of Citrus Heights, city staff, creditors, investors, and other concerned readers. The City of Citrus Heights received an award for its submission of the FY 2014-2015 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This was the 14th consecutive year that the city received this award. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of 1 year only. We believe that this report will again meet the program requirements to receive the award.
